Thank you. Noted.
Didn’t you call a 17/18 year old girl hot in front of her entire school and proceeded to make her feel uncomfortable? And said that we could listen if we wanted to but then yelled at a kid who was talking and made him move? ok boomer
Thank you for your concern and asking this question. Here is my question to you. Were you present in the gymnasium during this talk? If you were I want to acknowledge your question with compassion, empathy, truth, and humbleness. If you were not in the gymnasium I am afraid you are listening to what a select few have said. So, in short I’d say that I have three decades working with teens. I would NEVER say, “You’re HOT!” to a teenager. I am not that person. I am an adult, a father of four, an uncle, an advocate, a gentleman, a respectful husband, and an educator. I am also real and speak humor and truth with teens. I have learned that my style connects with the hearts of young people. I do apologize that some heard my words in the wrong way and make their own story as a result. Very sad. Very disappointing that a few people have made trouble of my incredible visit to this community. I spent 15 hours with this school community only for my great visit to be destroyed by this smear campaign.
My guy please chill out I was there when it happened (basically a whole year ago)–yes it was awkward but honestly no one cares about it anymore. Trust me, we KNOW you are a good inspirational speaker but that day you made some bad verbal decisions that resulted in some bad luck. Social media can clearly be dangerous but don’t use it for sympathy nearly a year after you made a mistake. U good don’t fret always remember to be c h i l l .
Thank you. Yes it is over and we’ve all moved on, or at least tried to. Some members of your community have not because my office still gets messages. I’ve received a lot of cancellations and significantly reduction in speaking engagement requests because everything is on the internet. I’ve had to reduce my staff, move into a new house, and make major changes after nearly three decades of work in teen mental health. I’m all good. I have nothing bad to say about this community or anyone. I had a great day. Perhaps somethings I would take back, but I can’t.
The comment exactly was, “High-Five!” “Chest Bump . . . Awkward!” as i’ve done in hundreds of school assemblies. Thank you. By the way, if you want to be taken seriously, please change your name on blogs. Come on, man.
