Author and speaker Jeff Yalden is stoked about his brand new workbook and planner, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose.

The workbook is the perfect companion to Yalden’s Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day.

With a compelling layout offering calendar and note space as well as actionable, daily principles pulled directly from BOOM, The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp will change your life – but ONLY if you are willing to put in the work.

In Episode 20 of The BOOM Podcast, Jeff continues his daily messages, drilling down on the steps you need to take to own your life.

Today, Jeff comes to you from the rural town of Paris, Arkansas.

If you are a regular reader of this blog or if you follow Jeff in other ways, you already know that he is a strong advocate for mental health because he also struggles at times with mental health issues such as major depression and PTSD.

When he recorded this podcast episode, he said he was dealing with some personal issues – and this might have come through in the tone of his voice.

“Within our four walls, life is not perfect. Life will never be perfect, and we all deal with something,” he said. “In many of our families, we deal with struggles and financial hardship, divorce or blended families. We deal with addiction or we deal with mental illness. But regardless of what we deal with in life, you’ve got to pick yourself up.”

In Jeff’s case, picking himself up meant getting ready for a big day, including speaking to two high schools, meeting with teachers and being present for a parent and community program.

“Regardless of what I am going through, I’ve got to do my routine and put what I am going through off to the side. I have got to function – just like you do,” he said.

When you fall, you pick yourself up.

DAY SEVEN: BOOM! GO ALL-IN

Look back at the past week, and make the decision to go all-in. No excuses.

“Today is the day where you go back and do the work that you didn’t fully do,” Yalden said.

Remember: Successful people are no smarter than you are.

“Successful people do the things that other people aren’t willing to do. They are more detail oriented. They don’t cut corners. They go all-in.”

Today is the day that you make that decision again.

“You’ve written the plan. You’ve come up with the steps it takes to achieve the plan. Are you all-in? Listen, I can’t do it for you. You have to make the decision that you are all-in – or it’s not that important to you.”

If your plan is not important enough for you to commit to, find something else that is more relatable, according to Jeff.

“I want you to be at the point to today that you have decided to go all-in on the plan you’ve written down. You see it. You smell it. You feel it. You can taste it. You can hear it. If you can’t do any of that, stop everything right now. Go back to day one.”

Going back is not a bad thing. Find something that really moves you – something that compels you to get up in the morning, ready to jump out of bed and get started.

“Life is not a race,” Jeff said, “Life is a journey. Right now, we’re helping each other out and regrouping a little bit. There is no magic pill. Hard work is hard work. Commitment is commitment. Responsibilities and obligations before rights and privileges.

If it’s important to you, you will find a way.”

Go all-in.
