Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 19

September 27, 2017 by Roger Yale

In Episode 33 of The BOOM Podcast, youth motivational speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden laid out the daily principle from Day 19 of his brand-new workbook and planner, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose. Today’s step brings into play a phrase you may have heard before in one of Yalden’s speaking programs or read in his Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day: Nothing changes if nothing changes. And this dovetails with the principle for Day 19:

SUCCESS IS THE WILLINGNESS TO CHANGE

“A life of success is about making changes where changes need to be made,” Yalden said. As he talked about in Day 18, Yalden said to look in the mirror and take personal responsibility for everything in your life. Today’s principle is a logical next-step. “Where do you need to make a change? If you keep going the way you’ve always been going, you are going to get the same results that you’ve always received,” he said. “Maybe there are little adjustments in your daily habits or in your routine – little adjustments in your structure and discipline that you need to make.” What are those adjustments? “If you are unwilling to make the changes in those little things, you are not going to get the results that you are looking for. Be willing to make the little changes that you need to make.” Let’s say you want to lose weight. “Have you joined a gym? No? All you are doing is talking about it. Have you talked to a personal trainer? No? All you are doing is talking about it. Have you maybe Googled or YouTubed meal prep or eating the right foods? No? All you are doing is talking about it.” According to Jeff, talking about something means you are not really committed to doing it. Most people only talk about what they want to do. Very few people take action. “I want you to stop talking and take action. You know what you need to do. We all know what we need to do. We live in a world today where we have Google and YouTube at our fingertips, yet people are still spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to get an education. It doesn’t make sense to me.” When Jeff wanted to learn the Final Cut Pro video editing software, the first thing he did was to hit up YouTube and watch all he could about it and then played with it. If he had a question, he’d return to YouTube until he got an answer and went back to work. Same deal with Photoshop. “Ask the question, take action, get the answer and implement it in your life.” Stop talking and start doing. Don’t wait until tomorrow, next Monday or January first to take action. Take a step today. “Make the adjustments you need to make,” he said. “Write them down. Discipline. Focus. Get up fifteen minutes earlier every single day. I know that you know what you need to do.” Are you doing what you know you need to do? “Maybe you need to change some of your influences. Are the people in your life supporting you? Are they encouraging you? Are they all-in with you? Are they giving you the right advice? Are you going to the right people for the right advice? When you make changes in your life, sometimes you have to change the people that are in your close circle.” Summon all the fortitude and the discipline you can to make the necessary changes in your life. Answer these three questions.
  • Is my life fulfilling?
  • Is my life meaningful?
  • Is my life rewarding?
If your answer is no to any of the above – Yalden said it’s time to make a change. “Is your purpose in life bigger than you? If you can’t say yes – change your purpose, my friends. Have a greater purpose.” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Jeff’s speaking calendar fills up fast. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 18

September 26, 2017 by Roger Yale

For those of you who might be new to this blog or to The BOOM Podcast, Jeff Yalden is the author of the Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day.  Yalden is and has been a top youth motivational and mental health speaker for more than two decades. He has addressed more than 4000 teen audiences in all 50 states, every province in Canada and 49 countries. He recently launched a brand-new companion workbook and planner to BOOM, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose. Yalden has also been laying out and expanding on the daily principles from the BOOM Boot Camp book on The BOOM Podcast. He will be the first to tell you that these principles will change your life, but only you can put in the work to make this a reality. Jeff wrote BOOM after he had overcome some very tough times, including spinal cord fusion, major depression and a too-close-to-home diabetes scare that could well have ended his life if he chose not to take immediate action. “My doctor gave me about a year to live before something catastrophic was going to happen, so I had to make some major changes,” he said, adding that this leads us to Day 18:

Look in the Mirror

You’ve got to take responsibility. Accountability check: Know that you’ve got to make a change. Take personal responsibility now. “Own it. I am talking having one plan, one task – one thing that you want to accomplish – and here’s where it starts. It starts by you waking up, looking in the mirror and you blocking everything else out. Take responsibility for your attitude, your behavior and the choices you make every single day,” he said. Yalden said that whether that responsibility is asking for help or separating yourself from some of the negative influences that hold you back – take responsibility not to procrastinate anymore. You are going to buckle down, grind and get it done. Look in the mirror. “Who is the hardest person to get to know? You will probably say ‘ourselves,’ ‘me’ – ‘myself.’ That’s right. I want you to look in the mirror every single day – not looking at how you look. I will tell you right now that you are beautiful. I want you to look at who you are – because when you look at who you are and you start working on that, then how you look is going to take care of itself,” he said. When you look in the mirror – start asking better questions. “How can I be more successful? How can I be more focused? How can I work harder? How can I accomplish this? How can I be a better father – a better mother – a better husband – a better wife – how can I improve my grades? How can I be a better athlete?” Start getting in the mirror every single day, and I want you to start asking better questions. “Sometimes you reach out to people because you think there’s a pill that you can take to achieve this or to do that,” Yalden said. “Sometimes you reach out to other people because you think there’s some magical formula. The reality is this: You know what to do. You just don’t want to do it.” Yalden’s bottom line is this: You need to look in the mirror, and you need to do what you need to do. “Don’t call me – ‘Hey Jeff, I want to be a professional speaker but I don’t know where to start…’ You know where to start. You start from the beginning. You start right now by waking up and putting your energy towards what you want to achieve.” Look in the mirror. Hold yourself accountable. “Nobody else can do it, my friends. Go and do it. Be awesome.” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 17

September 25, 2017 by Roger Yale

Amazon bestselling author and motivational speaker Jeff Yalden opened Episode 31 of The BOOM Podcast with a shout-out, thoughts and prayers for those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and the recent earthquakes in Mexico. [Hurricane Maria struck after the release of this podcast episode.] “Not to make light of the situation or to be insensitive in any way, but when adversity hits, we deal with it and move forward. That’s what we do,” Yalden said, adding a request to his listeners and readers around the globe to send a prayer and a thought for the people affected. During times of adversity and when people are suffering, we all tend to come together and help if we can, but when things get back to normal, Yalden said we once again get aggravated, short-tempered and angry about many things that really don’t matter. “Sometimes we forget about the little things like appreciation and living in gratitude,” he said, and encouraged every one of us to employ a daily mantra: Remember What’s Really Important. What’s important is being present and engaged – and it’s imperative that you take care of yourself first so that you can then be of service to others. Every day, Yalden has been laying out the principles in his brand-new workbook and planner, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. These principles will change your life, but only you can do the work. Have you been doing the work? If so, you are ready for Day 17:

Have a Sense of Urgency

Your written plan should now contain a time frame – so commit to your time frame and your routine for greatness. Your time frame should be structured so that you don’t allow yourself to become distracted. “When we talk about having a sense of urgency, we’re talking about making this a number-one priority,” Yalden said. “This is self-care – tackling the obstacles, the tasks that you have to do in order to achieve the plan that you have in front of you.” When Yalden was in the tenth grade, he remembers sitting in an assembly, listening to a speaker. At that time, he thought the speaker was the worst. “I wanted the speaker to fall off the stage and break his leg so I could go back to class. That’s how bad the speaker was,” he said. But thirty years later, he can still remember part of that speaker’s presentation – and he realizes now that the same speaker was awesome. Funny how a little perspective can change things, and what that speaker was talking about fits very well into this discussion about having a sense of urgency. Let’s say two people are going after their goals. In this case it’s you and it’s Yalden. You both have plans in place. You are both waking up motivated and are putting in consistent, daily work – improving every day and getting closer to your goals. “All of a sudden, you start to like the party scene,” Yalden said. “As you start going out on Friday nights, I stay focused on what I need to do to accomplish this dream – this plan that I have in place. You are staying focused too – but you start to like the parties, and your friends become a little bit more of a priority.” Do you see what just happened there? “I want you to have this sense of urgency that you are staying focused on what you need to do – and that becomes a priority. That is more of a priority than you wanting to go out with your friends. That is more of a priority than you wanting to go out to dinner – or that’s more of a priority than you wanting to sleep in.” The person who takes on the sense of urgency is going to get where they are going faster than another person who makes excuses. Your WHY must be greater than your excuses. “Listen: Balance. Boundaries. Priorities. Obligations. All of that comes before rights and privileges.” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Jeff’s speaking calendar fills up fast. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp – Day 16

September 24, 2017 by Roger Yale

In August, The BOOM Podcast had over 2300 downloads. As of early September, podcast downloads were going strong at over 400. “I am totally stoked about this,” said Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden. “I feel honored that people are downloading this podcast and checking it out.” Yesterday’s action step from the BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp was all about allocating a certain time in your day to for self-care and working on your plan. If you have completed yesterday’s task, it’s time to ramp things up with Day 16:

Create a Routine for Greatness

In Episode 30 of The BOOM Podcast, Yalden talked about his friend Hal Elrod, author of The Miracle Morning. “I want to invite you to check out the book. It has changed the lives of millions of people – including mine,” he said. If you have been a regular reader of this blog, you already know that Yalden struggles with mental illness, having been diagnosed with major depression, bipolar II and PTSD. But he also believes that those who struggle with him should avoid using this an excuse for not moving forward. “My friends, listen: We can’t use this as an excuse. We are not victims. We are victors. This is a mindset. We should not be bitter or angry about situations. We should just choose to go through them – and choose to become better. Having said that, I think having a routine for greatness is one of the most important things that we can do.” Yalden wakes up early, and he employs his routine right away by sitting down and simply breathing. “I like to inhale for a count of four – hold it – exhale for a count of four – and I have this mantra that I use: ‘Inhale peace. Exhale love.’” Try it. You will likely notice your mind wandering. Not a problem. This is normal. Bring your mind back to center and go through the process again. “What I am trying to get you to do is to lower your anxiety. Now you can run out and own the day instead of letting emotions run your day,” he said. First thing in the morning is also a great time to pray or meditate. Alternatively, you can journal or do adult coloring – all with the intention of bringing a sense of peace and calm so that you don’t start your day in a harried or rushed state. You might enjoy exercising in the morning, like Jeff. “I like that, because I like to get it done and I’m like, BOOM – I’m ready to go. Endorphins are kicking and I am ready to own the day.” You might prefer to exercise in the afternoon. Yalden said that’s fine too. The idea here is to set up a consistent routine throughout your days. Routine creates a habit. Do this every single day. “Let’s say your time is from six a.m. to eight a.m. Make that a routine, and don’t let things don’t let things come in and interrupt it and become the habit. Choose to make the habit about what is productive. When you are interrupted, make sure you get back in purpose with what’s important to you.” Create a Routine for Greatness. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 15

September 22, 2017 by Roger Yale

You can’t pour from an empty pitcher. In Episode 29 of The BOOM Podcast, motivational speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden continues to lay out the principles from his brand-new, hot-of the press workbook, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose. “You need to fill yourself up so emotionally you can be present and engaged, you can deliver; you can offer help and inspire others – but you can’t do that if you are running on empty yourself,” he said. The question for Day 15 is this:

What is your choice for success?

Yalden said that we allocate time for all sorts of things: Social media, getting ready for work in the morning and having a good breakfast [breakfast is super-important]. We allocate time for friends and for exercise and many other daily and weekly tasks. But one thing we don’t allocate enough time for is self-care. “I know some people might think that self-care is selfish. Listen – self-care is one of the most important things you can do every single day,” he said. What is your choice for success? “I am simply asking you what is the time that you are allocating every single day for yourself.” Yalden has a daily plan that includes personal and business responsibilities, and it’s broken up into morning, afternoon and evening.  He is sure to tackle his responsibility to himself – his self-care – in the morning. Just like GPS, a daily plan is a map that can guide you successfully to the end of your busy day. “What is the time that you are going to allocate to yourself on your life of success? Is it going to be from 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning? ‘Oh, Jeff – you don’t understand. My kids get up at six.’ I get it. Maybe you need to get up at like 4:45 and that’s where you might journal until 5:30. Maybe that’s where you spend ten minutes of reading. Maybe you meditate or breathe – inhale peace, exhale love. ‘Oh Jeff – I don’t get up that early – I can’t.’ Well then listen – you are not really committed.” The upshot is this:  If you are really committed to making changes in your life – big or small – you have to refocus and readjust your commitments, responsibilities and your obligations. “Responsibilities and obligations come before your rights and privileges, he said. Let’s say you go out every Friday night to party with your friends. “Maybe you have to change that to one or two Friday nights a month. Don’t get upset at me. I am helping you adult.” Success is not easy. Being average is much easier than being successful. Do you want a life of just being average, or do you want a life of success? “I don’t want to spend a lot of time going into what is success – only you know that. But what is it that you want? What is your plan that you’ve written down before Day 15? What I’m simply saying to you is that if you want to reach that plan at the end destination, then you might need to allocate some time every day to work on that plan.” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Podcast: Day 14

September 21, 2017 by Roger Yale

Youth motivational speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden recorded Episode 28 of The BOOM Podcast as he was getting ready to fly out to speaking gigs in St. Louis, Missouri and Harrisburg, Illinois. He began by giving a huge shout-out to a few people in his close circle of friends for coming to the aid of his fiancée Janet’s 91-year-old mother, who had suffered a fall while the pair were out on their boat on Labor Day. “We had to reach out to a couple of friends that were able to get there within minutes, and I can’t thank them enough,” he said. Yalden added that relationships are like a bank account. What you invest in it emotionally, you can take back out. “Remember that about relationships. Bring the BOOM every single day to your close circle, your trusted confidants and the people that you admire, respect and you trust with your life,” he said. “There is going to come a day when you’ve got to pull that back out.” Yalden has been laying out daily principles of his brand-new workbook and planner, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose. Over the past few days on The BOOM Podcast, Yalden talked about rewriting your plan, SMART Goals and making adjustments. The BOOM Boot Camp is the perfect companion to Yalden’s Amazon bestselling book, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day. The BOOM principles can change your life, but you must be committed to putting in the work necessary to make your plan a reality. If you have been taking action on these steps, you are now ready for Day 14:

TURN UP THE BOOM!

What you invest you get in return. Commit further. Turn it up

What are you investing in? “You invest in your car. You invest in education. But some of the important things that need to be invested in, we don’t make a priority,” he said. Your NUMBER ONE INVESTMENT PRIORITY should be to INVEST IN YOURSELF. If you invest in yourself, you will find that you are more able to then invest in your family and in your close circle of trusted friends. Contrary to what you might think, investing in yourself is far from selfish. “Self-care – investing in yourself – is probably one of the greatest things that you can do,” said Yalden. “After you take care of this, you now feel more apt to be able to reach out to others. You have more energy and more patience. You can be more present – more engaging and inspiring to other people.” And as you turn up the BOOM – make sure that your efforts line up with your expectations. “Do you expect great success? What do your efforts look like? Are you expecting great success from someone that’s grinding 50 hours a week, yet you are only putting in three hours a day? Your expectation is too high and is going to lead to great disappointment.” Does your effort match the result that you are expecting? “When I say turn up the BOOM, what I am saying is to ‘bring it’ every day. Bring time management. Bring your organizational skills. Bring your to-do list, and bring being present every single day.” Take personal responsibility for the little things. When we take care of the little things, the bigger things start to happen. “My friends – Turn up the BOOM. You can do it. Today is the day. Recommit. Take action. Be motivated. Be present – and most of all,  be awesome!” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Jeff’s speaking calendar fills up fast. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 13

September 20, 2017 by Roger Yale

If you have been following The BOOM Podcast, you already know that youth motivational speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden has been laying out the daily steps on his new workbook The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose.
“I am really trying to spell this out and make it as simple as possible, and excuse the term – I am trying to idiot-proof it for the people that have trouble refocusing, staying on a plan, creating a plan and staying consistent every single day,” Yalden said, adding that he wants you to go at your own pace. Yesterday, the message was all about SMART Goals, and Yalden talked about a book written by a friend of his, speaker and author Jake Ballentine. “I encourage you to read Your Number One Goal: Very well-written – very simple – and just really inspiring,” he said. The BOOM Boot Camp workbook contains actionable messages based on Yalden’s Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day. In Episode 27 of the BOOM Podcast, Yalden lays out his BOOM principle for Day 13:

MAKE ADJUSTMENTS

Go back over your plan. Do you see it? Are you able to feel it? When you look at your plan, is it doable? Can you manage your life and fulfill making this plan happen? Only you can answer that. “If you are at a point where maybe it’s a little overwhelming – rewrite your plan.” Remember: This is not about perfection. It’s about progress. “This is about you,” said Yalden. “This isn’t about me. This isn’t about your friends. This is about you. The workbook says 28 Days, but if it takes you two months, don’t worry about it.” Yalden wanted to let you in on a little secret. He said probably 10 percent of the people that buy this book will actually finish it. “If it takes you two months to create a plan – to have a goal and to achieve that goal – then you are better off than 90 percent of the people that buy the book with all the intentions in the world but never finish it,” he said. Do this on your own terms and at your own pace. Rewrite your plan if you need to. “If you have to go back to Day One and redo this all because now you are starting to feel it – now it’s starting to mean something to you – then stop everything and go back to Day One. When you go back, I want you to commit to doing it. And if Day One takes you two days or three days to do it – I’m OK with that.” But don’t go on to Day Two until you are sure you are ready. Maybe something happened to you yesterday and you need to refocus. Perhaps this new something is a priority. It’s OK to create a new goal. “Whatever that might be, don’t get discouraged. Don’t be disappointed,” he said. “It’s one day at a time, but every single day, focus on where you are going – not where you have been.” “It’s one day at a time – but every single day, you focus on where you are going, not where you’ve been. No matter what happens in our lives, we’re not victims. We rise up. We are victors.” Adopt a new mindset and leave anger and bitterness behind – no matter what happens – and choose gratitude instead. “I want you to start saying ‘thank you.’ Life does not happen to you. Life every day happens for you. Everything we go through, everything we encounter, every obstacle we face or every mountain we climb – whether it’s good or it’s bad – everything shapes us. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 12

September 19, 2017 by Roger Yale

We hope you have been taking daily action on the principles laid out by motivational speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden in his brand-new workbook and planner, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose.
“If you are jumping in just to see what I’m saying, that’s fine – but if you go in half-assed, you are going to get half-assed results. That’s the bottom line,” said Yalden. Go back and look at the previous daily assignments. Let the principles sink in. You must put in the daily work to be truly effective in this program. “Everybody wishes that they were successful,” he said. “Everybody has a dream – but dreams don’t work, my friends. Putting a plan in place and working that plan every day is going to take you to achieve these goals.” If it was easy, everybody would be doing it, according to Yalden. STOP here and review everything from Day One through Day 11. Now you are ready to tackle Day 12:

SMART Goals

Your plan should be SIMPLE, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, RELEVANT and TIMELY. “Have you put goals in place to achieve what you need to do? Am I making sense?” In this episode of The BOOM Podcast, Jeff talked about his friend, author and speaker Jake Ballentine, author of Your Number One Goal [Listen to their earlier conversation in Episode 4]. Ballentine had a goal to run a 5K in under 30 minutes – a SIMPLE and MEASURABLE goal. “He would run every single day and measured his success. He knew where he had to go,” Jeff said, adding that this goal was ATTAINABLE and RELEVANT. Ballentine’s “why” was stronger than his excuses, and this was also TIMELY – he had given himself a timeframe in which to accomplish this. Ballentine did it. What are your goals? What is your plan? “Put the goals in place to achieve the plan, whether it’s a three-month goal, a six-month goal, a one-year goal or a five-year goal. Have a goal in place to achieve that plan, which comes as a result of your dream.,” Yalden said. Remember: Life is not a race. Life is a journey – and we are all on our own paths. Remember:  SMART Goals: “You take the dream out of your head. You put it down on paper. Now you have a plan. You re-engineer yourself as if you have already achieved it, and you work from that point backwards. You set a goal to achieve the plan. Is the goal SIMPLE? Is it MEASURABLE? Can you do it – is it ATTAINABLE? Do you feel in your heart that you can definitely do that? Is it RELEVANT? Is your ‘why’ greater than your excuses – and lastly, is it TIMELY?” Do you have a set time in which you can allocate every single day to focusing on your goal? If you haven’t done the last eleven days, go back and do it. “Get off your ass. I’m sorry if that offended you. Get off your ass and start making progress. Not perfection, but progress – and do it every single day.” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Jeff’s speaking calendar fills up fast. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp – Day 11

September 18, 2017 by Roger Yale

Youth motivational speaker and author Jeff Yalden is stoked about the principles in his brand-new workbook, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose. If put the daily principles to work, your life will change – and he has been laying out each step right here.
But Jeff can’t do the work for you. Only you can do that. The impactful information found in The Boot Camp workbook is based on Jeff’s Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day. Use these together and you have an actionable framework for taking ownership of your life.  You are ready. Here is Day 11 – from Episode 24 of The BOOM Podcast:

 GRIND THROUGH IT

If you are follow Jeff, you might notice you have heard those words before – and you are probably going to hear them again. “Sometimes we get to a point where everything is going well: We are working really hard, contacting people and rewriting our plan – and then we get a little bit complacent or an interruption comes and we have to put our energies on something else,” he said. You might realize that you have missed a day in the Boot Camp. “Listen – if you missed a day, don’t worry about it. If you did Day 10 and two days later, you are back here at Day 11 – it not a problem. Remember what I say: Life is not a race. It’s a journey – and we are all on our own journeys.” A perfect example of grinding through it comes directly from Jeff’s life. He recorded this episode two days after experiencing an incident that he says really affected his spirits and set him back a bit. The following day, he had to be at his best. “The bottom line is that on Tuesday when I woke up, I had to get into my routine. I had to be more powerful on that day because I had to put Monday behind me and make Tuesday an epically awesome day.” He succeeded. According to Jeff, there are two areas where he believes Grinding Through It is really important:
  • MENTALLY
No matter what you are dealing with and no matter what you are going through, it’s going to be OK. “You have to wake up every day – brush your teeth, wash your face, do your dance – walk out the door and get your head right. Put yesterday behind you. You look out the windshield, not the rear-view mirror. Yesterday is not going to change. You can’t change yesterday, but you can choose today.” Value yourself. Your attitude and choices are most important.
  • PHYSICALLY
“This is called courage. Mental courage and physical courage. ‘I CAN do it. I AM going to do it.” Remember the BOOM. Bring the BOOM back into your life when you are grinding through it. “The BOOM is a factor. You have five seconds to bring that BOOM factor into your life and take action. If you don’t do it within five seconds, that brain-housing group kind of shuts down and you are like – I’m not going to do it.’” Don’t shut down. Don’t not do it. BOOM! Get up. Do it! BOOM is also an effect. “Today, when you do something and you are like, ‘I did it. I accomplished it. I put that behind me. I grinded through it.’ Give yourself the BOOM effect as a reward.” No matter what you are doing, Grind Through It. “It’s starting to get deep, my friends. Make it happen!” Find out why Jeff Yalden is North America’s Number One Youth Motivational Speaker. Go HERE. Jeff’s speaking calendar fills up fast. Drilling Down on The BOOM 28-Day Boot Camp: Day 10

September 18, 2017 by Roger Yale

Speaker and Amazon bestselling author Jeff Yalden has been laying out daily, actionable messages in his brand-new workbook, The BOOM 28 Day Boot Camp: Creating a Life of Success. Find Motivation. Crush Goals. Overcome Obstacles. Live with Purpose.
Jeff has promised that your life will change if you put the principles to work every single day. But you must be willing to put in the work. This 28-Day Boot Camp the perfect companion to Jeff’s Amazon bestseller, BOOM! One Word to Inspire Action, Deliver Rewards, and Positively Affect Your Life Every Day. It’s time to execute on Day 10:

NO EXCUSES! GET IT DONE!

Yalden spoke to us in this episode of The BOOM Podcast from his rental car on a three-hour drive to Maine. The previous day was, let’s just say, less than stellar by any means. “Yesterday I had a bad day, but when I say, ‘no excuses – you’ve got to get it done,’ I can’t continue to live in what happened yesterday,” he said. “I can’t continue letting yesterday affect me.” Jeff said he had to get his mind right and realize that today is a new day. “It’s a new opportunity. It’s new students. It’s new teachers. It’s new parents. Here I am north of Portland, Maine. No excuses. Let it go. Move forward.” If you have done the work and gone through Day One through Day Nine, you might be arriving at Day 10 feeling a little bit overwhelmed. “There is so much on your plate. You’ve got the bills. You’ve got friends, sports – your marriage – you’ve got your job. You’ve got this, you’ve got that.  I’m no different from you. Everybody else has the same responsibilities. But the bottom line is: Let’s stop making excuses. We have to get it done.” This is not about perfection. It’s about progress, according to Yalden. “Every single day, we are trying to make today better than it was yesterday. We are trying to make tomorrow better than today.” Do you have to create more time in your day? “If it’s important to you, you will maybe get up a little bit earlier. If it’s important to you, you will really focus on your tasks and your time management. If it’s important to you, then you will make it happen.” Is your plan important enough to you to say no to something else?  No to going out to dinner? No to spending so much time on social media platforms? “If it’s important to you, you will find the time,” Yalden said. “You will make the time.” If you make the time now to focus on your plan, you will have time to enjoy the fruits of your efforts later. Yalden is a big believer in the magic of the acronym, WIN, or What’s Important Now. “For me, WIN is that I let yesterday be yesterday. I get my head right, because I have a new day. Maybe that’s similar to you as well. Maybe you didn’t have such a great day yesterday, but you woke up this morning – you washed your face, brushed your teeth and did your dance – and you went out and kicked it, just like I have to do – and just like all of our friends and family have to do. We are not victims. We are victors. We are not to be bitter and angry. We are to choose every day to become better.” No Excuses!
